As if my anxiety was singing to me that I should not blame it for my lack of decision or anything, at the tune of Calvin Harris's “Blame it on the night” song. This song was playing in my head when the idea for this article came to me.

If you have read my past work, you know I have been in therapy and under medication for OCD. If not, don’t worry, let me get to the point.

My aspiration of doing anything wasn’t clouded as heavily, but I felt it difficult to:

  • Take action towards saying what I wish to have
  • Act like the type of person I want to be
  • Talk about my dreams
  • Make a decision and take action toward accomplishing anything

Mostly, I was getting stuck because I attributed dreaming big as something that is childlike, letting the idea that adults don’t have to do it. Even though there’s a need for creativity in so many spaces, dreaming big was downsized a long time ago, and before we knew it, it was okay to hang on to our dreams.

That’s how I feel anyway, I have nothing to back this up as it was a fact just there, lingering in my brain.
